(ahem), yeah that would be me.
Sorry for being M.I.A. Artist Hub peeps. The Christmas season was more relaxing than usual without the traveling aspect for me and I really ate that up. New Year's had me sick as a dog with a nasty sinus infection and I didn't quite snap out of that until I got some antibiotics to fight it. So I had some fun, had some illness and that's all I got for you. I'm back! Happy New Year to everyone!
Let's just jump right in.
Today's post is a sign submission from our buddy Greg at Store #249 in Los Angeles-CA.
He sent this with some Flyer signs, so it didn't get much of a description as to where it is in his store. I'm going to assume it's in his demo/coffee area? Hopefully he'll clarify for us.

Then it looks like you are just wiping clean the plexi-glass piece as the coffee changes out? Awesome! I REALLY love this idea and am going to pass this on to my art team. That' why I love this blog; we can learn so much from each other and share the ideas that are working best (or not working well, for that matter.) This is a GREAT idea.
I don't want to overlook your art though, Greg! This piece is so very meticulous with great design elements. I just love the vibrancy of the color AND the complementary color scheme- it reminds me so much of the classic corner diners of the 50's. Such a cool, classy choice. The "COFFEE" font is so chiseled and defined- I love the choice of font and the drop shadow tying in with the black backdrop.
The coffee cups are just beautiful. They just pop off those black, bullet backgrounds with a great sense of dimension and imagery. Love the "TJifying" touch of the hibiscus on the cup, too. Not to mention your great handwriting on that plexi-glass- that's no easy feat. Love the dramatic highlights-really makes your writing "bling"!
Kudos, Greg! Awesome work and so happy I could share this with our viewers!
Well, here we go kids! Another year!

LOVE the plexiglass idea! For our coffee sign we write on polyurethaned masonite that we coat with turtle wax (an odd system for sure) which usually does the trick but sometimes leaves a burned image in the polyurethane. I'm putting on my coat to go get some plexi right now.
P.S. GORGEOUS sign and lettering as well!
